Questions
Frequently asked questions
Everything people ask before starting a morning practice with SparkBloom — answered plainly.
What is SparkBloom?
SparkBloom is a personalized daily devotional app that sends one quote — Scripture, philosophy, or contemplative wisdom — with a reflection written for your life role, one small action, and an AI companion you can ask follow-up questions about that day's passage. It is built for a roughly 60-second morning practice rather than a long reading plan.
How is SparkBloom different from a verse-of-the-day app?
A verse-of-the-day app sends everyone the same passage. SparkBloom writes the reflection for the role you are actually carrying — father, mother, husband, wife, son, daughter, caregiver, or business owner — and adjusts over time based on what you save, skip, and tell it about your season of life.
Do I have to be Christian to use SparkBloom?
No. You can set your sources to Scripture, to philosophy and secular wisdom, or to a mix. A Stoic reader gets Marcus Aurelius and Epictetus with the same depth of reflection; nothing forces religious framing onto a non-religious spark.
Which Bible translation does SparkBloom use?
SparkBloom quotes public-domain translations only — the World English Bible (WEB), King James Version (KJV), American Standard Version (ASV), Young's Literal Translation (YLT), and Douay-Rheims (DRA). You choose which one you prefer, and every quoted verse names its translation.
Can I ask questions about the passage?
Yes. Every spark opens into a conversation grounded in that specific quote, reflection, and action — context, original meaning, objections, and how to practice it today. It answers in the register of the spark itself rather than converting every question into a sermon.
Does SparkBloom use AI?
Yes, for writing reflections and for the follow-up conversation. Scripture references are quoted from real passages rather than generated, and the app states plainly that it is not medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice.
How much does SparkBloom cost?
There is a free tier with a limited number of sparks, and an unlimited subscription billed monthly or yearly. Subscribing on the web costs less than subscribing through in-app purchase, because app store fees are passed through.
Is SparkBloom available on iPhone?
Yes. There is a native iOS app with daily push reminders, and the web app installs to the home screen as a PWA on iOS and Android.
What happens to my private notes?
Notes and saved sparks are tied to your account and are not public. You can delete your account and its data from Settings at any time.
Can SparkBloom help in a specific hard moment, not just in the morning?
Yes. Besides the daily spark you can describe a moment — a hard conversation, a diagnosis, a decision — and get a passage and reflection written for that situation.
